SSTUWA Reference Group Established

In recent times a number of SSTUWA member teacher librarians have come together to get active around issues pertinent to teacher librarians.

An SSTUWA Teacher Librarian Reference Group [TLRG] has been established.

The TLRG will work on a number of matters pertaining to Teacher Librarians including:

• Raising awareness of conditions of work
• Working to identify elements of conditions Teacher Librarians would seek to have included in the next Log of Claims
• Promoting awareness of the importance and value of having a qualified Teacher Librarian working in schools
• Seeking to establish the position of Teacher Librarian in each school and as one that requires librarian ‘certification’

We have sent out the TEACHER LIBRARIAN Communications and will be following up with further updates ina information. We invite you to read it and get engaged.
